Robin Kay, PhD
Co-Founder and Partner
After receiving her master’s and doctoral degrees from Fordham University, Dr. Robin Kay came to California to begin a career in community mental health that has spanned more than four decades. She is a dynamic leader focused on the realization of healthy populations through the integration of health and mental health services, delivered at the highest point of need within vulnerable communities.
For more than ten years, Robin served as the Chief Deputy Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the largest county-run mental health department in the United States. In that capacity, she was directly responsible for managing a budget of $2 billion and ensuring services were delivered to more than a quarter of a million vulnerable citizens annually.
Partnering with clients, agencies and community representatives, Robin was responsible for the design and implementation of many new programs, including integrated health and behavioral health services, prevention and early intervention programs, and Los Angeles County’s mental health urgent care network. She has a successful track record of aligning business operations and financial practices with service delivery to maximize benefits to clients and families while ensuring that agencies thrive.
Prior to her time at DMH, Dr. Kay also served in senior leadership positions for a variety of public and private clinics, including Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services; and for the past three years has taught in the doctoral program in social work at the University of Southern California.
